Hello! I’m Carl, a Web Developer and Photographer from Shrewsbury. I’ve gained three years worth of experience working in a professional design office for Yarrington, dealing with local and national clients on a range of projects.
My role at Yarrington so far has allowed me to be involved in several different job roles including website design and development, email marketing campaigns, event production, delegate management, video production, and corporate event and product photography.
In 2010, I left my secondary school in Shrewsbury with 14 GCSE’s graded between A* and C, before starting my BTEC Extended Diploma for IT Practitioners at Shrewsbury College of Arts and Technology. Throughout two years of studying this course, I covered and learnt about several topics in the IT industry including basic robots, programming, basic web development and computer hardware. In 2012 I left college with my extended diploma and a guaranteed place at Staffordshire University on their HND in Information Technologies, which I attended once again at Shrewsbury College.
For the next two years I studied the first half of my degree, covering topics including ASP.net web development, mySQL databases, computer networking and completing a final year project. After passing my HND in 2014, I decided to move to Wolverhampton University to study the final two years of my degree, eventually qualifying with a 2:1 BSc Honours degree in Computing Digital Media Development, after spending the final years of my education studying PHP frameworks, 3D applications, and finished my four years by developing a mobile friendly web application, which was designed around the human body and how humans interact with their touch screen devices which now seem common place in the world.
